Burlesque revival

The Burlesque revival movement is on! Burlesque is much more than stripping for dollars and woman pleasuring men, it is theatre. Thespians have embraced the history of burlesque and revived it through a growing number of troupes and venues. Burlesque festivals have created a national community of devotee's. Media exposure by way of the internet, videos and television are destined to ensure the success of the movement as well. Burlesque involves a diverse world of performers including; comedians, musicians, freak show performers,costumers, set designers all joining the stage with the burlesque artisans to create a couples-friendly variety act.

Happy Birthday Regi!

Regi, you pathetic loser! I guess everyone ignored your birthday again. Sister spent the day on the operating table and then killed her comatose brother-inlaw the next day. Parents went on a wild trip to the casino. Wife slept through it then forgot all about it because the baby factory had a another baby on the third. All Regi got was a birthday greeting from himself and silk pajamas. What he wanted was a velvet jacket and the opportunity to tell Lenny Bruce jokes at a burlesque show. Maybe next year.

Those haters of artistic cinema (red-state people) convinced me to see a Fellini movie who they often attack. The first one anyone should watch is Satyricon. Costumes are great. Sets are great. Cinematography is great. I recommend that you educate yourself about Satyricon first and you will enjoy the movie. An education is required before watching any art-house movie, thats why the red-state people hate art-house.

Sexually, the movie deals with homosexuality, NAMBLA style. Although no acts of homosexuality are committed. Everyone is very hedonistic. The nudity is sparse. Satyricon is not a sex movie it is a satire on Roman society. Douglas Keesey recommends this movie.

Satyricon is also a cult classic having a following with the Mystic Krewe of Satyricon-New Orleans. Check out their photos.
