Bonnie Dunn
NYC Bonnie Dunn is the creator of www.bluesandburlesque.com. Ms Dunn has been performing her cabaret and burlesque act for over a decadent decade. She is the producer and featured performer of the wildly popular New York City burlesque show, Le Scandal Cabaret now playing at The Cutting Room, NYC. As a teenager growing up in New Orleans, she developed her burlesque and cabaret persona, watching and performing in New Orleans' famous French Quarter. She has recorded with New Orleans; legend Allen Toussaint. She has produced and performed nationally as well as internationally in such exotic places as Bangkok, Copenhagen, and Cyprus. Bonnie Dunn and the Blue Angel Cabaret, (Le Scandal), can be seen on HBO's Real Sex # 25. Bonnie has also been feature on Metro TV's To Live and Date in New York, NY Central, Naked NY, and Metro's Gothan TV. She has also appeared in several films and commercials. She is a featured singer on a Steve Allen song compilation, singing his original song, "Until I Left Chicago". The New York Times has called her, "a sassy singer, with a smoldering voice."

Bonnie Dunn has been performing and producing burlesque and cabaret shows for the past 15 years, nationally and internationally. She is currently the producer of the weekly Saturday night burlesque show, Le Scandal Cabaret, at the fabulous Cutting Room, 19 West 24th, NYC.
She has performed in such exotic places as Bangkok and Cyprus to the Coney Island Sideshow in Brooklyn, NY. Her act brings together the seduction of old time burlesque, and the glamour and sophistication of the 1940's torch singer.
The New York Times called her, "a saucy singer with a smoldering voice..." Bonnie Dunn has a fashion line called, Bluesandburlesque.com Her unique hand crafted pasties are now being sold at the Museum of Sex gift shop, NYC.

Risque burlesque takes off everywhere

Burlesque is back in Hollywood and throughout the country.- At the Shim Sham Club in New Orleans, advance ticket sales for the club's nightly burlesque shows have doubled, says production manager Jessica Boyd. Burlesque dancer Kitten La Rue, of the club's Shim Sham Revue, performed last week on The Late Late Show With Craig Kilborn. (Related item: Club puts new bloom on old va-va-voom)
- Hot burlesque troupe the Pontani Sisters hit the stage late last month at a Target launch party for makeup guru Sonia Kashuk's new book, Real Beauty. Model Cindy Crawford co-hosted the bash; models Christy Turlington and Inez Ribeiro and actress Keri Russell enjoyed the show.
- Burlesque fan and shock rocker Marilyn Manson has been performing some small burlesque-style shows prior to his next record release, according to a spokeswoman for his label, Interscope Records.
- Last year, teen idol Christina Aguilera, model/actress Carmen Electra, musician Gwen Stefani, actress Brittany Murphy and musician Nikka Costa performed with the Pussycat Doll Revue, a burlesque-style cabaret act at the Roxy in Los Angeles.
- The first New York Burlesque festival hits the Big Apple May 23-25. Forty burlesque performers will take over two floors of lower Manhattan's Knitting Factory for a night of burlesque performances, according to Thirsty Girl Productions.

Mata Kari
LA Kari French (aka Carlotta Blue of the Velvet Hammer) is a performer/artist and actor who loves dabbling in recreating authentic burlesque. Her interest has shifted from an extensive career as a performance artist using dance & theatre to visually combine feminist philosophy, social comment and humor. She is also known as the Pussy Print-cess, making souvenir art by tastefully using her crotch as a paint brush. These prints have made their way into galleries, been used as wallpaper in art installations and performed live to raise money for many good causes. When she isn't performing or making art out of Barbie dolls, she's hanging out sipping absinthe in her "Modesty Blaise-esque" toy-infested house. She go go dances from room to room dreaming up schemes for her career as an international spy girl. Rumor has it she is to go out on her first intergalactal mission in the very near future.
