The Wet Spots

THE WET SPOTS (Performer / Sex Columnist Cass King and Songwriter John Woods) manage to be triple XXX without using any words that aren’t allowed on CBC Radio. The duo are well known in Vancouver BC for their lively, up tempo shows which often involve singalongs, spankings, and bawdy sex ed. In their first year they went from short guest appearances at underground cabaret nights to headlining sets at mainstream comedy clubs, a feature set at the Vancouver International Comedy Festival Gala at the Vogue Theatre, and the hosting duties for the sold-out Uncensored as Hell showcases at the Whistler Comedy Festival. The Georgia Straight named them Best Adult Entertainers 2003-2004. Their second year sees them showcasing at Canadian Music Week and the New York Burlesque Festival, and gaining international TV exposure performing their country dildo hit "Texas Annie" for cable series Beyond Invention. They are also currently writing a musical for the Vancouver and Victoria Fringe Festivals called Sing your Way to Better Sex, a night-school sex-ed parody best described as Sue Johansen-meets-Schoolhouse Rock. The Wet Spots have received rave reviews from the alternative press (Discorder, Nerve Magazine) as well as the mainstream dailies and weeklies (The Vancouver Sun, The Province, The Westender, The Georgia Straight etc.) Their repertoire, which includes the bossa nova & jazz originals 'Threeway Rendezvous' and "Do You Take it (in the Ass)?", prompted comedian John Wing to call them: "The classiest smut act (he’s) ever seen". Yuk Yuk’s Mark Breslin concurs "Deliciously decadent – just the way I like it".
