Sunday, April 03, 2005The Big TeaseThe Big Tease Directed and Produced by Steffie Nelson and Barry Link NYC
In May 2001, the beautiful and hedonistic city of New Orleans hosted the first Burlesque convention ever, Tease-o-rama. "The Big Tease" chronicles this three-day event, offering a fast-paced, feisty, feminist introduction to the ever-expanding modern Burlesque movement. The film features interviews with key figures in the current renaissance, including Dita von Teese, The World Famous Pontani Sisters, The Gun Street Girls, The Devilettes, and the Shim Shamettes, as well as tantalizing performance footage that will leave you wanting more. (trt 16:30) Awards: Best Documentary Short, Arlene Grocery Film Festival, 2002 Biographies: Steffie Nelson is a Brooklyn-based journalist who produced the recent burlesque events Billion Dollar Babies and Venus in Spurs. Barry Link is a photographer, video director and producer, and graphic designer who works in the fields of beauty and entertainment.
